2022 SJ Food and Farm Fest Saturday 5 November!

And you thought the 2021 SJ Food and Farm Fest was the best show you have ever been to in our Serpentine Jarrahdale Shire!

The 2022 SJ Food and Farm Fest is going to be even bigger and better with more stalls, a bigger Farmers Market, more food trucks and a huge array of activities to see and join in.

The same rules apply for entry…..16 and under and over 80s are FREE.

Horse events will fill one half of the show so there will be something for everyone and the beautiful, majestic Andalusians and riders in stunning costumes will be back. Pony rides will be there all day for the children.

Multiple Men’s Sheds will combine to have an entire display area for their demonstrations and displays of goods. There will be some beautiful handmade and crafted bargains to be taken home from the Men’s Shed area.

The Main Arena this year will feature even more events and activities with a stage provided for local dance troupes and schools to show their skills. Audiences will also be treated to performances by Boorloo Aboriginal Cultural Experiences. There will be all the activities seen last year including sack races, hay bale and wheelbarrow races and pumpkin bowling competitions and all will have cash prizes up for grabs.

Don’t miss out on the HUGE Kids Zone full of free, interactive activities for the kids and teenagers to flex their muscles and physical prowess.

Beautiful show dogs will have an entire arena reserved for them where you can watch them go through their paces.

An Ag Show would not be complete without a whole array of small animal competitions and displays ranging from all sorts of poultry, goats and sheep, donkeys and alpacas. These will be in the Small Animal Arena.

The Serpentine Jarrahdale Food & Farm Alliance Inc. Food and Farm pavilion will be the site of all sorts of produce competitions. All of our budding cooks and preservers can dust off the old family recipes, cook up a storm and bring the resulting goodies to display and compete. All entries will be judged and prizes awarded.

On top of all of that there will be large display of all things agricultural……tractors, a farrier at work, sheep shearing, tree climbing, Bush Fire Ready display, interactive St John’s Ambulance activities and Monster trucks.

Come on down to Serpentine and enjoy another great SJ Ag Show at the 2022 SJ Food and Farm Fest on 5 November 2022

The Serpentine Jarrahdale Food and Farm Alliance Inc (SJFFA) is very pleased to be able to hold the first Ag Show in the Shire for many decades. It is being held at the Serpentine Horse and Pony Club on Karnup Road in Serpentine and has gained the support of the broader community.

This years Food and Farm Fest will be celebrating the International Year of Fruit and Vegetables with a Harvest Fair and a variety of showcases of locally produced food. There will be highlights on honey, apples and pumpkins and the whole SJ Farmers Market is coming to the event so you can see and buy the autumnal bounty of our area.

Guest speakers will provide great information on organic gardening and farming, honey, food science and why you should eat local food, ripened naturally and sold fresh. There will also be a great presentation on SJ’s invented and produced ‘cockatubes’ which are providing much needed nesting alternatives for these precious species.

Kids and teenagers 16 and under can have a great time in the HUGE Bendigo Bank Kids and Youth Zone with terrific interactive activities. And all these young people can enter the whole show for FREE.

The young at heart but Over 80s also can enter the whole show for FREE!
Equestrian fans will be enthralled by a Horses in Action competition hosted by Serpentine Horse and Pony Club and a Southside Jump Club Show Jumping competition.

MasterMind

This is a combination of both the MasterClass event held on the Saturday, and the MasterMind held on the Sunday. Those people who would like the chance to have this sort of dialogue with somebody of Joel’s calibre will need to attend the Saturday class in order to be prepared for the Sunday class.

The Sunday event will be strictly limited to 15 persons only, because these people will be given the opportunity to have Joel do an analysis of their situation and offer his advice. They will get the chance to talk personally with him. There will then be a general Q & A between the group.
